There’s a golden reason to celebrate for one of our region’s producers, with Sunnypoint Pastoral Co taking home a GOLD Medal at the 2026 Sydney Royal Fine Food Show.
Sunnypoint claimed the top result in Class 3: Grass Fed Beef, achieving an impressive score of 91.12 points and earning the prestigious Sydney Royal Gold Medal.
Held at Sydney Showground, Sydney Olympic Park, the Sydney Royal Fine Food Show brings together some of Australia’s best producers, with judging across a range of categories throughout August and September.
The competition is all about recognising excellence in Australian food production, with the Branded Meat Competition putting products through a rigorous judging process. Entries are assessed across areas including visual appeal, texture, aroma, tenderness, flavour and overall enjoyment — and with a score of 90 points or above required for Gold, Sunnypoint’s 91.12 is an outstanding achievement.
Even better for our region, you don’t have to travel far to get your hands on this award-winning beef!
Sunnypoint Beef is available locally from Mawhood’s SUPA IGA Plus Liquor Oberon, Barkers Butchery Oberon, IGA Trinity Heights and Notnats Butchery West Bathurst.
Further afield, you’ll also find it at Mawhood’s IGA Grenfell, Mawhood’s IGA Cootamundra and Cootamundra Butchery.
It’s always wonderful to see regional producers recognised on a bigger stage, and this Gold Medal is another great example of the quality being produced right here in our own backyard.
A huge congratulations to Sunnypoint Pastoral Co and everyone involved in getting their grass-fed beef from the paddock to the plate.
Sydney Royal GOLD — now that’s something worth celebrating!
