Local organisations invited to explore grant opportunities in Lithgow

Local community groups and volunteer organisations will have the opportunity to build their funding knowledge at an upcoming workshop hosted by Volunteer Connect Lithgow Region.

Titled “Who Needs Grants? Let’s Explore the Possibilities!”, the practical session will be held at Lithgow Library on Saturday, 14 November 2026, from 9:30am to 11am.

Whether an organisation is new to grant writing or looking to strengthen its funding applications, the workshop aims to help participants discover where to find grant opportunities, understand funding options and build confidence in taking the next steps towards securing financial support.

Grants can make a real difference to local organisations, helping bring community ideas to life, support volunteers, deliver valuable programs and create opportunities for people across the Lithgow region. However, knowing where to look and how to get started can often be a challenge for busy volunteer-run groups.

Volunteer Connect Lithgow Region is encouraging Volunteer Involving Organisations (VIOs), community groups and volunteers to attend, share ideas and learn alongside others who are working to make a difference locally.

The session will also provide an opportunity to connect with other community organisations, exchange experiences and explore ways to strengthen the region’s community sector. Participants are invited to stay afterwards for networking over morning tea.

The workshop is proudly sponsored by Lithgow Workies and supported by the Centre for Volunteering.
