The Oberon Business & Tourism Association is celebrating Small Business Month with one final Out & About event for 2026, while also looking ahead to an important Annual General Meeting and some new faces around the committee table.
OBTA’s Wander Waldara in Spring will be held on Wednesday 14 October from 6pm to 8pm at the beautiful Waldara Farm at Edith, giving local business people the opportunity to connect, catch up and discover another wonderful venue within the Oberon region.
It is a fitting location to round out the year’s Out & About calendar, with Waldara Farm recently named Outstanding Visitor Experience at the 2026 Oberon Business Awards.
Guests will have the opportunity to explore Waldara’s gardens, take a look inside the property’s two impressive houses and then settle in on the Reception Barn verandah for a grazing table and champagne.
The Out & About events have become a popular part of the OBTA calendar, providing an informal way for business owners, operators and community members to make connections while experiencing some of the diverse businesses and venues across the region.
Tickets are $20 for OBTA members and $25 for non-members, with the evening open to all businesses. RSVPs close Sunday 11 October.
While October will provide an opportunity to celebrate local small business, November will see OBTA turn its attention to the future.
The association’s Annual General Meeting will be held on 14 November, with several key committee positions to be filled for 2027.
After several rewarding years in their executive roles, OBTA’s President and Vice President will both step down at the AGM, opening the door for new ideas and fresh perspectives within the organisation.
Positions including President, Vice President and Secretary will be available, along with opportunities to join the wider committee.
Expressions of Interest close on 10 October but can be extended if required, with OBTA encouraging anyone who has considered becoming more involved in Oberon’s business and tourism community to find out more.
Completing an EOI does not commit applicants to taking on a role, and outgoing executives will provide a comprehensive handover to the incoming team.
It is an exciting opportunity for members to help shape OBTA’s next chapter and continue the work of supporting, connecting and promoting businesses across the Oberon region.
Tickets for Wander Waldara are available through Humanitix, while AGM role information and Expression of Interest forms are available by contacting: oberonobta@gmail.com.
