Hartley Valley Gardens Ready to Bloom

Garden lovers will have plenty to look forward to later this month, with the Hartley Valley Garden Festival & Plant Fair returning on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 October

Running from 10am to 4pm both days, the festival will open the gates to four beautiful privately owned acreage gardens – Highfields, Hartvale, Wild Meadows and Gory’u Japanese Gardens – each offering something completely different for visitors to explore.

Spring colour will certainly be the star of the weekend, with roses, peonies, poppies and a wonderful collection of perennials filling the gardens. From Hartvale’s colourful cottage-style planting and the peaceful surrounds of Gory’u, through to the naturalistic Wild Meadows and impressive Highfields, there should be plenty of inspiration to take home.

And, of course, a garden festival needs a little shopping! Plant and artisan stalls will feature across the weekend, including rare and unusual plants, fresh flowers, garden sculpture and other locally made pieces.

Morning and afternoon teas will be available, along with sausage sizzles and BBQ options, while visitors are also welcome to pack a picnic and find a favourite spot amongst the gardens.

The four gardens are conveniently located within around five to ten minutes’ drive of each other, making it easy to turn the outing into a full day exploring beautiful Hartley Valley.

Entry is $15 per person, per garden, with children under 16 free. No bookings are required – simply pay at each garden gate.

With beautiful gardens, mountain views, plants to buy and plenty of places to stop for a cuppa, it sounds like a pretty lovely way to spend a spring weekend.
