Blayney & District Netball Association has plenty to celebrate following another outstanding representative season, with local players continuing to showcase the strength of grassroots netball in the Central West.
The association proudly sent its Under 13 and Under 14 representative teams to the Netball NSW 2026 State Titles earlier this month, one of the largest netball events in Australia. The teams travelled with the support of a NSW Government Local Sports Grant, which enabled the association to hire a bus for the trip, helping ease travel costs for families while giving players valuable time together to bond before stepping onto the court.
The representative program continues to go from strength to strength, following the incredible achievement of Blayney’s Under 17 side, who were recently crowned Division 4 State Champions. Adding to the season’s highlights, the association also congratulated its Under 12, Under 13 and Under 14 teams on their fantastic performances at the Camden Junior State Titles, where players created lasting friendships and unforgettable memories while proudly representing their community.
Behind every successful representative campaign is a dedicated team of volunteers, families and generous local businesses. The association has extended its sincere thanks to Royal Hotel Blayney, Blayney Wholesale Foods, Kaos Auto Electrical Orange, Bernardi’s Marketplace, Hutchisons Bakery and Railway Meats for their support with food and preparations leading into the State Titles.
The celebrations will continue on Sunday, 30 August, when the Blayney & District Netball Association hosts its Representative Presentation Day at the Blayney Golf Club. Running from 1.30pm to 5.50pm, with presentations commencing at 2.30pm, the afternoon will recognise the achievements and commitment of players, coaches and managers throughout the representative season.
Representative players, coaches and managers receive free entry, while family members and supporters are welcome to attend for just $5 per person. The afternoon will include a photo booth, finger food, an ice cream and lolly bar, with drinks available to purchase from the bar.
Looking ahead, the association is inviting all current and prospective members to its Annual General Meeting on Tuesday, 1 September, at the Blayney Netball Courts Clubhouse. With all committee positions open for nomination, the AGM provides an excellent opportunity for members to become involved and help shape the future of local netball.
With success on the court and a passionate volunteer network behind the scenes, the future continues to look bright for Blayney & District Netball Association.
