Community Invited to Celebrate National Volunteer Week in Lithgow

The community is invited to come together and celebrate the contribution of local volunteers during a special National Volunteer Week event hosted by Volunteer Connect Lithgow Region Inc on Saturday, 23 May 2026 at 10:00 am at Lithgow Library.

The event will recognise the important role volunteers play across the Lithgow Region and provide an opportunity for community members to connect with local organisations, services, and volunteering opportunities.

A highlight of the event will be the official launch of the Lithgow Volunteer Guide, a new resource designed to help people discover local volunteering opportunities and connect with organisations across the region.

The event theme, “Your Year to Volunteer,” encourages people of all ages and backgrounds to consider how volunteering can support both the community and personal well-being.

Guests will enjoy morning tea, networking opportunities, and celebrations recognising the dedication and impact of volunteers throughout the region.

Volunteer Connect Lithgow Region said the event is an opportunity to thank volunteers for the care, time, and energy they contribute to the community every day.

“Volunteers are at the heart of our community. This event is about celebrating their contribution and encouraging more people to discover the many ways they can get involved locally.”

The event is supported by The Centre for Volunteering.

Community members, volunteers, and organisations are encouraged to attend.
