Oberon Community Fest 2026 will take place throughout February, delivering a curated program of workshops, talks, creative sessions and community celebrations hosted at the Oberon Library and Community Centre and across the town.
The month-long festival offers something for all ages and interests, inviting locals to come together, share stories, learn new skills and celebrate the diversity that makes Oberon such a special place to live.
The festival kicks off on Saturday, February 7, with the popular Listening Lounge from 10am to 12pm, featuring respected writer and historian Mirela Cufurovic, who will share insights into storytelling, history and cultural identity.
Creative minds can enjoy Library Afterdark (18+) sessions on Wednesday, February 11, with Garden of Wire Art Workshop from 6.30pm to 8.30pm, offering a hands-on evening of artistic expression in a relaxed social setting.
The Listening Lounge returns on Saturday, February 14 (10am–12pm, TBC), followed by another Library Afterdark event on Wednesday, February 18, featuring Snug Farm’s Introduction to Permaculture, giving participants practical tips for sustainable living and growing.
Mental health awareness and creative expression come together on Saturday, February 21, when artist and mental health advocate Sonia Cox headlines the Listening Lounge from 10am to 12pm, sharing her powerful story and creative journey.
Community learning continues on Wednesday, February 25, with OCSN Community Science Night from 6.30pm to 8.30pm, offering an engaging look at citizen science and local environmental projects.
Local literature lovers won’t want to miss Friday, February 27, with FOOLS – Library Afterdark welcoming local author Peter Deakin from 6pm to 8pm, celebrating storytelling and the importance of regional voices.
The festival culminates with Diversity Day at The Common on Saturday, February 28, from 11am to 3pm — a major community celebration showcasing Oberon’s rich cultural heritage through food, music, performances and activities for the whole family.
