Drought Resilience Action Planning

In response to previous and now the next UPCOMING DROUGHT Lithgow City Council, Bathurst Regional Council, and Oberon Council have received funding from the Australian Government and the NSW Government under the Regional Drought Resilience Planning Program to develop a Regional Drought Resilience Plan.

This Plan will identify the region’s priorities, provide a roadmap of actions to help us prepare and act early to respond to future drought risks, ultimately reducing impacts on our people, environment, and economy.

To assist in creating strong, valid, and achievable plans, all three Councils have the support of specialist partner WSP to speak with local communities and businesses and build a ground-up approach to drought resilience planning. In aid of this goal, Lithgow Council and WSP are hosting three workshops to collate feedback from our round 1 community consultations and develop a list of actions which could assist the community, individuals, farmers, and businesses during times of drought.

To have your say and be part of our face-to-face community action planning process please RSVP to one of the following meetings at sophie.drysdale@wsp.com or phone 0481 799 529.
