Streets as Shared Spaces | Project Complete.

Today Deputy Premier and Member for Bathurst Paul Toole MP, Robert ‘Stumpy’ Taylor – Mayor of Bathurst and Janet Bingham – Manager Strategic Planning at Council inspected the project.

$767,884 was received from the NSW Government Streets as Shared Spaces Funding to test and pilot new and innovative ideas for streets as safe, shared public spaces.

The design and procurement undertaken for the project was developed with local trades, services and contractors in mind to ensure the funding contributed assistance to the regional economy.

Part of the Project involved slow traffic and prioritise pedestrians in Church Street, Trial Street Trees in pots, enhanced shared vehicle, cycle and pedestrian access though the town Square and public art commissions throughout.
