The Lions Club of Mount Panorama staged its Youth of The Year Quest last month at the Bathurst RSL Club. Four candidates presented this year, and all impressed the judges, making it difficult to select those who were to progress to the District Youth of The Year Quest.
Stella Hall was ultimately chosen to participate at the District Quest in Leeton later this month. Josef Hines was deemed the winner of the public speaking competition. Daria Olney and Hayley Speirs were presented with Achievement Awards. A presentation of the perpetual trophy, sponsored by Exceltech, was made by Mount Panorama Lions President Sue Longmore.
Lion Graham Carter, who has been Youth of The Year organiser for many years, acted as MC for the evening, which was attended by members of the Mount Panorama Lions Club, Bathurst Lions Club and relatives and friends of the participants.
Many thanks must also go to the judges for the night, Marion Kennedy (NAB Representative – Official supporter of the Quest), Lesley Bull (Retired accountant and previous YOTY judge) and Angus McKibbin (Retired veterinarian and previous YOTY judge).
