World Teachers Day

“As we celebrate World Teachers Day I am reminded of the changes to the educational landscape over the last 2 years. It has been challenging for the whole educational community.  I really want to acknowledge the effort, care and consideration the Portland Central School teachers provide for students each and every day. They have remained positive in adversity, flexible in their approach and determined to meet the needs of all students in their care. Here is a HUGE thanks from Mr Quirk and the Portland community.

Matt Quirk, Relieving Principal, Portland Central School

Teachers (with support from parents and carers) have ensured education continues across the country this year, despite major challenges. It’s reinforced the significant role teachers play in the lives of children and students, their families, and communities.

On Friday 29 October, celebrate being part of a remarkable profession and its bright future, or say thank you to teachers. Post a photo in your sunglasses on social media, either on your own or with colleagues, friends, or family.

Make sure you use #BrightFuture @aitsl

World Teachers’ Day is held internationally in early October. As it falls during the school holidays for many parts of Australia, we celebrate a little later. Share this post to make sure we all celebrate and thank teachers on Friday 29 October.
