Greater Lithgow Art Council Awards

The Greater Lithgow Art Council handed out their awards recently. We congratulate those awarded for their services in the arts.

Congratulations to Peter Avery on his well deserved nomination for his outstanding in his contribution in Art and Entertainment, Peter for many years has been a member in the Lithgow Community Orchestra as well as performing in other organizations. Peter has written a book called ” Grandad Runs the Race”.

Congratulations to Mitchell Scott for his talented performance of his Music. Playing Cello in concerts and music in church band as well as in School productions and the Community Orchestra.

Congratulations to Kathleen Compton for her hard Contribution work in the the Community as a writer and Publisher of books, for Lithgow Tidy Town, researching on her Ancestors with writing and publishing it.

Congratulations to Reverent Steven Fong for his undertaking in Music with both children and adults in Nursing homes and at the Wallerawang Kids club and with his singing, puppets and Balloon’s illustrations with stories.

Congratulations to Julie Hughan for her volunteer work by doing Balls. Fundraising for the Luekemia Foundation as well as singing in the Nursing home group ‘Them Again’ along with her help services in Vale Ladies.
