Community members gathered at Black Gold in Wallerawang to recognise Day for Daniel, an important national initiative raising awareness of child safety and the role everyone can play in protecting young people.
Hosted by Black Gold’s Brad Cluff, the gathering brought together local residents, educators and students to acknowledge the significance of the day and show their support for this important cause.
Wallerawang Public School Principal Jenny Lamborn shared a short address, highlighting the importance of child safety awareness and education. Students from Lithgow High School also attended, alongside Principal Foty Loupos, adding to the strong representation from the local school community.
Day for Daniel is held annually in memory of Daniel Morcombe, whose tragic disappearance in 2003 led to the establishment of the Daniel Morcombe Foundation. The Foundation continues its important work educating children, families and communities about personal safety.
The gathering was a wonderful example of the Wallerawang community coming together, taking time to reflect on an important message and reinforcing the shared responsibility of keeping children safe.
