On the 14th October the Ladies Celebrated the 50th Birthday of their Club, President Violet McMahon welcomed guests from the local bowling area and teams from Hazelbrook, Oberon, Bathurst and Portland.
The Club Manager Grahame Glazebrook and President Barry Jackson helped with the Celebrations.
The day started with morning tea, followed with 18 ends of lawn bowls, the wet weather held off but it was chilly on the green.
Gai Feltham was the emcee for the day who started the grace before a baked meal was served by the catering staff for 60 people. Dessert was a very tasty and enjoyable Cake made by member Denise Robinson, and there was also a Special Gluton free cake.
The top table was introduced, Bev Milton a past President, and present Patron, Cassie Mearns (Meurou) a foundation member, Dianne Hawken a past President and at present Secretary, Violet McMahon President, Sue Holt an early member and present Treasurer, and Janette Pender a past President.
The cutting of the Birthday cake was done by Cassie Mearns, Violet McMahon and Sue Holt.
The Oberon Team were the Winners, with runner ups a Wallerawang team.
It was a Gold theme event, with each guest receiving a special pen for a keepsake.
All guests were thanked for helping to Celebrate A Special day, and wished a safe trip home.
