Take the Scenic Route for Art!

Art lovers across the Central West are in for a treat, with the Lithgow Arts Trail returning on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 November, offering the perfect excuse to get out, explore our beautiful region and d siscover some incredible local talent.

This year’s trail features a record 50 artists, with open studios and galleries showcasing an exciting variety of creative works across the region’s seven valleys.

From Hartley, Bowenfels and Lithgow through to Portland, Capertee, Glen Davis and Bogee, there’s plenty to discover, with visitors encouraged to venture beyond their usual weekend destinations.

With 15 artists participating across the spectacular Capertee Valley, it’s a fantastic opportunity to make a day of it! Pack the car, gather a few friends and take the scenic route to somewhere you might not otherwise have thought to visit.

Artists in Bogee, Glen Davis and Capertee are particularly keen to welcome visitors, and with beautiful countryside along the way, the journey is all part of the experience.

One of the great things about the Arts Trail is the opportunity to meet artists, explore their creative spaces and perhaps take home an affordable piece of original art.

For those new to the trail, the Union Theatre Gallery in Lithgow is an excellent starting point, with 26 artists exhibiting, including emerging talent.

There’s even a little mystery involved, with seven artists exhibiting at secret locations not listed in the brochure! Friendly volunteers at the gallery can help visitors plan their journey and discover these hidden gems.

The Union Theatre Gallery is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 10am to 3pm, over the next two weeks.

Entry is completely free, with trail studios and galleries open from 10am to 4pm on 7 and 8 November.

Brochures are available at tourist information centres, or visit www.lithgowartstrail.com.au to plan your adventure.
