The countdown is on to the Blayney Public School Community Fete, and organisers are putting the call out for volunteers to help make this much-loved community day a huge success.
The fete will take over King George Oval, Blayney, on Saturday 17 October from 10am to 3pm, bringing the school community together for a fun-filled day for local kids and families.
But, as anyone who has ever helped organise a community event knows, these wonderful days don’t just happen — they take plenty of helping hands behind the scenes!
Volunteers are needed across the day, and there are jobs big and small to suit however much time people can spare.
Helpers are needed for set-up before the gates open, collecting entry fees, running carnival activity stalls and lending a hand at the cake, plant and book swap stalls. There are also plenty of general duties throughout the day, followed by the all-important pack down and clean-up afterwards.
Can’t volunteer on the day? You can still be part of the team.
The school is also calling for donations of baked goods, plants and books to help stock the fete stalls and make them something special.
Whether you can give an hour, a few hours or roll up your sleeves for the whole day, every extra pair of hands will help create a fantastic day for Blayney Public School students and their families.
