Lithgow will once again turn its eyes to the night sky this October, with Lights Over Lithgow 2026 – Under the Same Stars bringing the community together for an evening of culture, storytelling, markets and spectacular drone light shows.
Developed and hosted by Lithgow High School at its Pau Street location, this year’s event carries the theme “Two Stories. One Sky. One Community.”, exploring the stories that have connected people to the stars across cultures and generations.
For thousands of years, people have looked skyward for guidance, inspiration and connection. While different cultures have given the stars different names and stories, we have always stood beneath the same night sky.
Lights Over Lithgow 2026 will celebrate that shared connection through two spectacular drone light shows, combining Wiradjuri Culture and the Western Zodiac through storytelling, music and choreographed formations overhead.
The event is also a timely reminder that even through challenging times, community remains one of Lithgow’s greatest strengths.
The afternoon will begin with markets from 3.30pm to 7.30pm, before attention turns skyward for the light show at 7.45pm. A shuttle bus will also operate from the corner of Mort and Eskbank Streets, bring visitors up to the High School.
