Young performers across the Blayney district are being invited to step into the spotlight, with a new term of drama classes set to begin at the Platform Arts Hub at the historic Blayney Railway Station.
Kicking off on Tuesday 5 May, the Blayney Drama Club will run across eight weekly sessions, offering one-hour classes designed to be engaging, practical and, above all, fun. Open to a mixed-age group of 7- to 16-year-olds, the program aims to nurture creativity while building important life skills.
Participants can expect a hands-on introduction to theatre, with sessions that include theatre games, mask work, and short script exploration. The course is structured to help young people develop vocal projection, expand their creative vocabulary, and build confidence in both performance and everyday communication. A strong focus is also placed on teamwork and social connection, making it an ideal environment for those looking to grow both on and off the stage.
With small class sizes, students will benefit from ample stage time and personalised feedback, ensuring each participant has the opportunity to develop at their own pace.
Leading the program is experienced facilitator Rose Oates from Poetry in Motion Workshops. Rose brings a strong background in both the arts and education, holding an Associate Diploma in Creative and Expressive Arts, a Bachelor of Applied Science (Speech Pathology), and a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care. She also holds a current Working with Children Check.
Flexible payment options are available, with families able to pay weekly or upfront for the full term.
With places limited, early bookings are encouraged for what promises to be a lively and rewarding term of creative expression in Blayney.
