Do you know someone who loves giving back to the community? Well, now is the chance for them to be recognised for their efforts, with the call going out for nominations for Bathurst Electorate Volunteer of the Year.
Bathurst MP Paul Toole is asking residents to take this opportunity to nominate an individual or members of a local organisation who have made a significant contribution through a volunteer role – someone who has made a difference and had an impact through their contribution and generosity.
“In all aspects of our community, there are unsung heroes who selflessly give many hours of their time to support a diverse range of community events and activities from service organisations to schools and sporting clubs, in aged care, health and the environment, to name but a few,” Mr Toole said.
“Volunteers are critical to our community’s resilience, and many groups and organisations would not be able to operate without these people who really are amongst the quiet achievers in our community.
Across Australia, we rely on some 14 million volunteers who give freely of their time to help others. I’m hoping there is a special person in our community that someone may believe is worthy of acknowledgement and recognition as our Volunteer of the Year.
If you believe you know someone worthy of this title, please consider nominating that special person by contacting my office for a nomination form.
