Book lovers, bargain hunters and community-minded locals are invited to mark their calendars for Lifeline Central West’s first May Book Fair for 2026, returning to the Bathurst Showground for four big days of reading treasure hunts and community support.
The much-loved Book Fair will run from Thursday 28 May to Saturday 30 May, 9am–4pm, and Sunday 31 May, 10am–2pm, offering tens of thousands of titles across all genres and age groups. With gold coin entry and EFTPOS available, it’s an easy, affordable outing for families, seniors and everyone in between.
All books are in impeccable condition, carefully sorted by author and genre and priced to sell, making it simple to find a favourite writer, discover a new subject or stock up your home library. Alongside books, shoppers will also find games, CDs, DVDs and records, with an exciting new Rare and Collectable Section launching in May.
Beyond the shelves, the Book Fair plays a vital role in supporting Lifeline Central West, helping to fund the community-based services Lifeline is renowned for. Every purchase directly contributes to local support services that save lives and strengthen the region.
The event is fully accessible, with free onsite parking, toilets available and seating for those who need a rest. Entry is via the main gate on the Great Western Highway / Kendall Avenue, so visitors are encouraged to bring a sturdy bag and allow time to browse.
Lifeline Central West is also calling for volunteers and donations. Quality, gently used books, CDs and DVDs can be dropped off at 253 Howick Street, Bathurst, where the book van is available for contactless drop-off Monday to Friday, 8.30am–4.30pm. Textbooks, encyclopaedias
and magazines are not accepted.
