Discover La Salle Academy at Taste of High School Day and Open Evening

Families across Lithgow and the wider Central West are invited to step inside La Salle Academy on Thursday 26 February, with the school hosting both its popular Taste of High School Day and an evening Open Night.

Designed especially for current Year 6 students, the Taste of High School Day offers a genuine immersion into secondary school life. Running from 9.30am to 2.30pm, students will experience the rhythm of a typical school day – moving between classes, exploring specialist learning spaces, meeting teachers and engaging with the broader school environment as if they were already enrolled.

Parents of public school students are asked to contact the La Salle Academy office to register their child’s attendance, while Catholic primary school students will receive information directly through their schools. The day provides a valuable opportunity for students to build confidence, ask questions and gain a clearer sense of what the transition to high school can look and feel like.

In the evening, the school will open its doors again for a community-wide Open Evening, welcoming families and individuals from all year levels. Commencing at 5.00pm and concluding at 7.00pm, the Open Evening includes guided tours of the facilities, opportunities to speak with teachers and current students, and insights into learning pathways and co-curricular opportunities on offer.

A highlight of the evening will be the Principal’s address, outlining the mission, values and future direction of La Salle Academy, and sharing how the school continues to support students academically, socially and pastorally within their strong faith tradition.

Enrolments are now open for 2027 and 2028 for current Year 5 and Year 6 students, with enrolment interviews set to commence in Term Two. For families considering secondary education options, the Taste of High School Day and Open Evening provide a timely and informative opportunity to see La Salle Academy in action and explore what the next stage of learning could look like for their child.
