Bathurst Remembers World War 2 Exhibition

Popular radio and television presenter Simon Marnie was in Bathurst recently to record his Sunday brunch radio segment with Bathurst resident Noel Cowan.

This will go to air this  Sunday 7th August between 11.30 am and 12 midday locally, on ABC AM Radio frequency 549. 

Simon’s  ‘Weekend Mornings’ program is broadcast locally each weekend, on ABC local radio. In a lively interview, Noel discussed his family background in the movie business, which goes back to the silent era of film (pre 1927) his own career in the movie business and showed Simon items from his huge SOUVENIR MOVIE PROGRAM collection, which is Australia’s largest.

He also discussed and showed Simon items he will exhibit at the ’Bathurst Remembers World War 2 Exhibition 2022’ marking VJ Day & the end of WW2, during Friday 12th August to Monday 15th August 2022 inclusive, at the Heritage Pavillions at Bathurst Showground. 

Noel’s exhibit of movie memorabilia will be one of countless other displays, from 34 other exhibitors, displaying over 4000 items of military and WW2 memorabilia, uniforms, medals, military vehicles, photos, newspapers of the day etc. with talks by WW2 historians and authors and will be open 9am to 5pm each day.
