24 Debutantes were introduced at what may be Lithgow’s Last Catholic Ball on Friday 27 May. The theme for the event was The King and I which transformed the Civic BallRoom into a grand space for the night.
The Matron of Honour for the event was Mrs Dianne O’Sullivan who is a familiar face to locals after having spent her career teaching in La Salle Academy’s Music Department.
Many special guests were in attendance including guest of honour Mr Chris Millroy and his wife, along with Mayor Maree Statham accompanied by Clr Stuart McGhie, Deputy Premier Member for Bathurst Paul Toole and his wife Joanne, Patron of the event Fr Gary McKeown, Principal of St Josephs Portland Mrs Simone Taylor and her husband Shane, Principal of La Salle Academy Mrs Joyce Smith and Principal of St Patricks Ms Renee Dunleavy.
The debutantes and their partners put their many hours of practice to good use showcasing their impressive dance skills through the formal proceedings before the night was further enjoyed by all in attendance.
