Hudson Wins Wet Khanacross

Early rain didn’t dampen the enthusiasm of the competitors but it did add to the spectacular driving in the muddy conditions it produced at the May Khanacross held at the Yvonne Martyn Memorial Motorsport Park Portland by the Lithgow District Car Club.

First place outright went to Bathurst’s Harrison Hudson at the wheel of his Subaru WRX with Josh Redhead of Blayney just .16th of a second behind driving another WRX while Marty Edwards claimed third place outright and the best presented car award for his WRX.

Young Josh Hunter took out the Junior class in Marty Edward’s WRX from Bathurst’s Max Selmes also WRX mounted while twelve year old Kasey Wallace drove the LDCC Camry to third place and was also the fastest female. 

Diminutive Dean Wolf continually improved his times during the day at the wheel of his shared Toyota Celica to take home the encouragement award.

A huge thank you to clerk of course Joe Chapman,assistant clerk of course Grahame Cooke who also performed time keeping duties with Deanne Hudson; Lyn,Amanda,Grant and Gary Cooke who kept the BBQ revved up plus the event secretary Hayley Wallace and the other volunteers who kept the event running smoothly.

The next event,another khanacross,will be held on Sunday June 26th again conducted by the Lithgow District Car Club at the motorsport park.
