Transport Boost for West Bathurst Pre-School

The NSW Government’s Early Childhood Community Grants is set to deliver a $10,000 transport boost to West Bathurst Pre-school.

Member for Bathurst Paul Toole said the funding has been approved for a range of activities to support participation by Aboriginal children and children from low income families in a pre-school program.

“This additional support is for participation in 600 hours of quality early childhood education in the two years prior to school,” he said.

“West Bathurst Pre-school aims to pursue transport initiatives such as establishing partnerships with local schools, councils or transport providers to increase access to its services.”

Mr Toole said it’s acknowledged that pre-school is a time when children learn critical social and emotional skills and partnerships are formed between the child, their parents and teachers.

“When this is done successfully, it lays the groundwork for it to continue through the child’s education,” he said.
