Regional Development Australia Central West (RDA Central West) has welcomed Mr. Wayne Sunderland as CEO. Mr. Sunderland, who has a strong background in business and leadership, said he is dedicated to continuing the work of his predecessor Mr. Sam Harma.
“Sam was a fantastic advocate for the Central West and I am both honoured and committed to represent the communities of Bathurst, Blayney, Cabonne, Cowra, Forbes, Lachlan, Lithgow, Oberon, Orange, Parkes and Weddin,” said Mr. Sunderland.
“I look forward to working with the team at RDA Central West and forming new connections across all levels of government, the private sector and our local community organisations.”
Mr. Sunderland acknowledged that economic development plays a major role in the work he will undertake and it follows a challenging two years.
“It’s imperative that we capitalise on new opportunities in employment and industry so our region remains resilient and resourceful,” added Mr. Sunderland.
RDA Central West Chair, Ruth Fagan, welcomed Mr. Sunderland’s appointment as Director. “Wayne brings a deep knowledge of the region, experience in leadership and a passion for local business to the role,” said Mrs Fagan.
“The Central West is rich and diverse and is home to almost 200,000 people and I share Wayne’s vision and confidence in our region. “I look forward to working with Wayne and the team as we continue to build a stronger Central West region.”
