Our goal ist to help community groups, passionate locals and businesses to tell their story to our regional audience.
A good press release works on the 5 W principle – Who, What, Where, Why and When. You don’t have to be a great writer to get details over to us, just give us a paragraph on each and we can turn that into a compelling story to the wider community.
Here is an example to give you an idea.
Step 1
- When – Wednesday 22 January at 6pm
- Who – Your group name, for example Central West Village Voice
- What – Community information night
- Where – Oberon Library
- Why – To help the community understand how to send us information
Then turn each point into a short paragraph and expand on details
Step 2
When – The event will take place from 6pm on Wednesday 22 July and is expected to last approximately an hour. We look forward to seeing you there.
Who – Managing director of the Central West Village Voice, Kellie Evans.
What – A community information night to celebrate the launch of the newspaper in the Oberon region and start building a community network to ensure we build relationships that will help us get the good news of the region.
Where – The event will be held in the Oberon Library and light refreshments wil be served.
Why – The event will give us a chance to meet the community face to face and tell our story so that they know we are here to be of service to the community.
We can then use this to create a story, but make sure you give us your phone/email so we can contact you for more information.
We can’t publish everything we receive and we ask contributors to consider the publishing guidelines and intent of this news paper when making a submission.
