The annual two-day RISE Youth Festival is on again this year in Bathurst. The festival offers a range of workshops and activities for students in years six to 12 including an overnight stay at Bathurst Goldfields on Mount Panorama.
“This year we are offering a wide range of workshops and activities from music, art, sport, games, how to create a podcast to meditation, finding out more about the SES as well as sessions to support young people in talking about the big questions of life, faith and meaning in their lives today,” says Jacinta Thatcher, Leadership Team member for the youth festival. “RISE Youth Festival is for our young people in our region.
Older students act as peers and activities leaders to facilitate a festival full of fun, friendship, small group challenges, workshops, games, music and lots of opportunities to share life experiences” she added. One of the highlights will be the all-ages concert headlined by Melbourne-based composer, performer and music minister Gen Bryant. Gen Bryant has worked with schools, churches and communities for over 15 years. She has shared the stage with well-known artists such as Fr Rob Galea, Steve Angrisano, Gary Pinto, and in 2017 was the support act to Matt Maher at The Australian Catholic Youth Festival (ACYF), Sydney.
The RISE Youth Festival runs from 10am Thursday 14 to 3pm Friday 15 July 2022 and registration can be made by calling Jacinta on 6334 6426.
All participants are asked to bring along a purchased personal hygiene item or two that can be donated to the Vinnie’s Cards of Hope and Care Packages for People in Need workshop running as part of the event, which will then be distributed through the program to someone experiencing hardship and need.
