Oberon is gearing up for another big day of motorsport, with entries now open for the 2026 Southwest Excavations Rally of Oberon, to be held on Saturday 14 November.
The event will bring rally competitors, crews, officials and supporters to the region for the final round of the Rally NSW season, with some exciting competition expected across the forests surrounding Oberon.
Organised by the Rally Car Club, the event will feature a compact and competitive course through the Jenolan State Forests, including roads that have not hosted rally action for several years.
Competitors will tackle three stages, each repeated three times, offering a challenging mix of road surfaces and conditions.
The rally will host Round 5 of the Shamrock Haulage NSW Rally Championship, Round 6 of the East Coast Classic Rally Series for both two-wheel and four-wheel drive competitors, and Round 4 of the NSW Clubman Rally Series.
This year’s event also welcomes new naming sponsors Southwest Excavations, with organisers acknowledging the support of Alan and Mary Kennedy.
The brand-new Oberon Sports Complex will provide the event base, with Rally Headquarters located inside Club Oberon, home of the Oberon Leagues Club and Oberon Tigers.
The facilities will accommodate the service park, while a local sporting group will provide breakfast from the new canteen on Saturday morning.
Following the competition, crews and supporters are encouraged to stay for the post-event function at Club Oberon.
The rally is another opportunity to showcase Oberon as a destination for regional sporting events, bringing visitors into town and supporting local businesses and community organisations.
Entries are now open through WOLF Sports at https://wolfsports.co/au/rally/event/rally-of-oberon.
