Nineteen Club members, plus a visitor, gathered at Bathurst Railway Station on a very cold morning recently to board the XPT train service, bound for Dubbo, to Wellington for the purpose of eating lunch.
During the almost two-hour journey, the party enjoyed passing through some lovely rural landscapes, sighting livestock and kangaroos. On arrival at Wellington, a short walk took the group to the Wellington Soldiers Memorial Club, where they enjoyed very tasty and filling meals in the Chinese restaurant. After lunch, the group returned to Bathurst on the afternoon Sydney-bound XPT train service. A large vote of thanks go to the staff aboard the XPT and to station staff for their cheerful, polite and friendly assistance during the trip, which was thoroughly enjoyed by all members of the group.
