Bathurst Heritage Trade Trails celebrates its 10th event

Early bird tickets are now on sale for one of the Bathurst region’s most immersive and much-loved heritage events, with the Bathurst Heritage Trades Trail™ set to return on 11–12 April 2026.

Celebrating 10 years in 2026, the Trail will once again transform the historic Bathurst Showgrounds into a living showcase of the skills, trades and traditions that helped build the region. Gates will be open from 10am to 4pm both days, offering visitors the chance to step back in time and experience craftsmanship rarely seen in modern life.

Across the weekend, local and guest artisans will demonstrate a remarkable range of rare and disappearing trades. From the heat and rhythm of blacksmiths forging iron, to saddlers hand-stitching leather and dry stone wallers shaping rock without mortar, the event provides a hands-on glimpse into techniques passed down through generations.

Visitors can also explore traditional Aboriginal tool and weapon making, along with whip cracking and whip making, glass artistry, lace making, tapestry and embroidery. Skilled craftspeople in carpentry and joinery, coopering, knife making and violin making will be on hand to demonstrate their expertise and share the stories behind their work.

One of the highlights for many families is the opportunity to take a ride on an authentic restored Cobb & Co coach, offering a tangible connection to the region’s early transport history and a memorable experience for all ages.

The Bathurst Heritage Trades Trail is more than a display — it is a celebration of knowledge, patience and pride in workmanship, preserving traditions that might otherwise be lost. Set within Australia’s oldest inland European settlement, the event offers a powerful reminder of the ingenuity and resilience that shaped the Bathurst region.

Early bird tickets are now available, with free onsite parking included.
