128, Lithgow’s newest cafe and bar offering flung open its doors recently making the biggest splash seen for a little while!
Owner Aimee Friedrich, a very well known identity on the local foodie scene, is feeling so proud and very excited to invite everyone in the region to come on in and sample their fare! The menu includes breakfast, lunch and dinner dishes as well as great coffee and other drinks. When you’re there, be sure to check out the wine list and cocktail suggestions – you won’t be disappointed!
Chatting with Aimee, it’s clear to see that she really has a passion for providing amazing food and drinks but also for creating a really welcoming and cool space. Aimee and her dad worked tirelessly for months and months to renovate the older style cafe in to something that is really special. Opening the doors has been a life-long dream for Aimee. “When I was young, I was talking with my Nan and told her that one day I wanted to open my own venue! And now it’s finally a reality!”, Aimee said.
When talking about the vibe of 128, Aimee said, “We wanted to make a relaxed elevated dining experience that would work if you want to drop in for lunch in your tradie uniform but that you could then switch up and get all fun and fancy for a dinner and drinks in the evening!”.
“I’m so thrilled with how everything has come together. Not only just the reno’s and creating the menu but the whole team has come together so well. I feel like I’ve created exactly what I was hoping for.” Aimee said.
With Valentines Day around the corner, Aimee and Head Chef Chris Brooks are currently working on their Degustation menu for the evening service. Be sure to keep an eye on the Facebook page for costs and what will be included and how you can book your table.
Next up for 128 will be the launch of their website, with booking links as well as the capability to preorder your take away coffee’s and food items. This will definitely help with being able to pick and go on the run! Aimee expects this to be up and running in the next couple of weeks. After this, the sky is the limit for this incredible new space!
128 is open Monday to Friday from 6:30am to 4:00pm then Saturday and Sunday from 8:00am to 4:00pm for lunch. The gang take a quick break to reset then reopen Thursday to Sunday from 6:00pm till late. 128 is located at 128 Main Street Lithgow. Bookings are highly recommended to avoid disappointment but walk-in’s are also welcomed.
