Bathurst community groups share in Council funding

Community organisations across the Bathurst region will receive a helping hand through Bathurst Regional Council’s 2026 Section 356 Donations program.

The annual funding program supports local groups, charities and organisations delivering valuable projects, services and events across the community.

Former Mayor Robert Taylor said Council was proud to support the work of local organisations, with this year’s recipients representing historical, cultural, sporting and community initiatives.

Among those supported are the Bathurst Edgell Jog Committee, Bathurst Gardeners’ Club, Bathurst Nepalese Community, Bathurst Seymour Centre, Bathurst Eisteddfod, Mitchell Conservatorium and the Royal Bathurst Show.

Funding will also assist the Rotary Club of Bathurst’s graffiti program, memory book projects for elderly residents through Bathurst and District Artisans, and an outside broadcast celebrating 50 years of community radio in Bathurst by 2MCE-FM.

Heritage projects will benefit too, with support for improved lighting at the Rockley Mill and Stables Museum, archival resources through Bathurst Remembers, and maintenance work at Sofala’s public toilets.

Sporting organisations and young people will also receive support, including Bathurst City Colts Sporting Club, the Western Region Academy of Sport and scholarship programs through Charles Sturt University and Western Sydney University.

Council’s contribution will help recipients meet costs ranging from venue hire and equipment to insurance, maintenance, promotion and program delivery.

The successful organisations were selected following a report to Council through the annual budget process.
