Spring is in the air, the days are getting warmer and Lithgow City Orchestra is ready to welcome the new season with an afternoon of beautiful live music.
The Orchestra will present its Spring Concert on Sunday, 20 September at 2pm, offering the community the chance to sit back, relax and enjoy a wonderfully varied program – completely free of charge.
Held at Notre Dame University, near Lithgow Hospital, the concert will bring together familiar favourites, classical masterpieces and much-loved music from the big screen.
The program has something for just about every musical taste, including the haunting Love Theme from The Godfather, Holst’s magnificent Jupiter from The Planets, Elgar’s beautiful Nimrod and the unforgettable My Heart Will Go On from Titanic.
There will also be some well-known favourites including A Whiter Shade of Pale and California Dreamin’, along with plenty more to enjoy throughout the afternoon.
Lithgow City Orchestra’s Spring Concert is about much more than the music. It is a celebration of local talent, creativity and the simple pleasure of coming together as a community to enjoy a live performance.
And there is no need to rush off once the final note has been played.
Refreshments will be served following the concert, giving audience members the opportunity to meet the musicians, catch up with friends and mingle with fellow music lovers.
With free entry, a comfortable professional concert setting and a terrific selection of music, it is an easy way to spend a Spring Sunday afternoon.
