Golfers across the region are being encouraged to dust off their clubs and support a worthy cause when the annual Bathurst Legacy Charity Golf Day returns on Sunday, 12 April.
Held at Bathurst Golf Club, the event is Legacy’s major fundraising activity for the year and plays an important role in supporting the families of veterans who have died or been physically or mentally injured as a result of their service.
The popular event brings together local golfers, businesses and community members for a day of friendly competition, fundraising and community spirit.
The day will begin with a 9.00 am shotgun start, with players competing in a four-person Ambrose format — a style of play well suited to golfers of all skill levels and one that ensures plenty of fun on the course.
Entry is $65 per player, which includes green fees and lunch. Drinks will also be available throughout the day, with refreshments on the 13th hole and a circulating drinks cart keeping players well supplied as they make their way around the course.
As in previous years, the event is strongly supported by the Bathurst business community, with sponsorship helping to deliver an exciting range of prizes. A major highlight will once again be the opportunity to win $20,000 for a hole-in-one, alongside a range of other on-course competitions including nearest the pin, straight drive and the ever-popular hockey stick putt.
A raffle featuring a variety of prizes will also be held, with tickets available at Bathurst Golf Club on Thursday, 2 and Thursday, 9 April, as well as Saturday, 11 April and on the day of the event. The raffle will be drawn once all players have completed the course.
Registrations can be made through Bathurst Golf Club, or by contacting Legacy on Mondays on 6333 2913.
Organisers say the day promises plenty of fun while raising vital funds to help Legacy continue its work supporting veteran families in the community.
