HSC MEDIA RELEASE
Lithgow High School is celebrating a strong set of 2025 Higher School Certificate results, reflecting the school’s commitment to academic excellence, student growth, and diverse post-school pathways.
Students achieved outstanding results across a wide range of subjects, with particularly strong performances in English Advanced, Visual Arts, Community and Family Studies, VET Retail Services, Modern History, Society and Culture, Dance and PDHPE.
Notably, 100 per cent of English Advanced students achieved Band 4 or above, and on average over 60 percent of the school achieved a Band 4 or above, highlighting the strength of teaching and learning in senior literacy. Visual Arts students also excelled, with six of seven students achieving Band 5 or Band 6, placing Lithgow High School students among the highest achievers in the state. Retail Services students also exceeded state averages, demonstrating the strength of the school’s vocational pathways and applied learning programs.
The school recorded consistent Band 5 results across humanities and creative subjects, while maintaining high participation and solid outcomes in Mathematics and the Sciences, particularly in Mathematics Standard 2, Biology, and Physics.
Principal Foty Loupos said the results reflect the school’s focus on high expectations, inclusive success, and personalised pathways.
“These results tell a powerful story about our students. Whether their pathway was university, TAFE, apprenticeships or employment, our students demonstrated commitment, resilience and growth. We are incredibly proud of them.”
Importantly, the majority of students seeking university entry secured early entry offers, based on their strong performance and application throughout Stage 6, well before the release of final HSC results. This underscores the school’s emphasis on learning growth, assessment consistency, and post-school readiness, rather than relying solely on final examinations. Lithgow High School also continues to deliver strong outcomes across vocational education, Life Skills and school-based apprenticeship pathways, ensuring every student is supported to achieve meaningful and personal success.
The school community congratulates the Class of 2025, their families, and staff on an excellent year of achievement.
