Rebooted Festival Returns

The 2nd annual (new) Festival of the Valley, Main Event, a free community event, will take place on Sunday November 27 at the Lithgow Showground, hours: 9am – 4pm.

Comprising of the Lithgow Lions Community Market, a Big Band & Dance Concert featuring local dance groups including Belly D, the Prudence Schwartz Dance Academy, Absolute Dance, the Lithgow City Band, the Blue Mountains City Band & the Bathurst City & RSL Band, Youth Bands, street performance by the Katoomba Amusement Co, car, bike & truck displays, historical re-enactment by the Lithgow Living History group & much more; the festival will end with a Parade which follows the finale of the Big Band & Dance Concert around 3pm.

“What goes around comes around: the new Festival of the Valley has grown from the ashes of Celebrate Lithgow, which grew out of the old Festival of the Valley; which locals know, was a huge event that involved the whole town. This year’s festival will be a humble free event compared to the old days but will be significantly bigger than last year & will be a lot of fun. Everyone is invited to come along &, being that we’re still over 2 months away, we’re still looking for people to get involved.”said Macgregor Ross, organiser of the festival.
