Book Week Celebrations in Portland

Characters from a huge range of books came to life at Portland Central School on Thursday afternoon to celebrate the Annual Book Week Costume parade.

The Infants and Primary students were all in character celebrating the theme Australian Books and Authors. Some were perhaps slightly off the track but the effort and enthusiasm was there; none-the-less.

This year, the school also hosted an Art Show of children artworks, showcasing the talents of budding young artists, that parents could purchase as a fundraiser for the school.
Every year the parade gets better and better as the children (and quite a number of parents) enjoy the process of coming up with costumes and then doing their best to recreate them.
Congratulations to all the students of Portland Central School who participated and a special congratulations to all the winners.
