Wallerawang Football

Under 7’s

Wallerawang Under 7’s strong played Storm Hurricanes in a great match. Bryce Carter led the team as captain and worked hard all game. Mitchell Lane had a great game, made some impressive runs and was rewarded with a try! Lowan Francis and Max Alexander also worked hard to score a try each. Matthew Purdon and Serena McCann are continuing to develop great ball skills each week and enjoy playing with their team. Curtis Brown played well and tackled hard.

This week the under 7s  Wang brave hosted the cyclones in a great home game.

In a hard fought battle Hayden Way and James Kinney continued there try scoring trend with Wyatt West helping out with one of his own and his first for the season which helped him take out this week’s player award. Captain this week Harrison Schroder along with Maddison and James Williams continue to grow in confidence getting more and more involved each game. A big thank you to Max Alexander and Curtis Brown who backed up after their own game to help out with strong defence and some brilliant attacking runs.

Under 8’s

Under 8’s Fierce showed continued improvement when they came up against Portland. Jimmy Stewart was once again remarkable in defence along with Brody Hart. Brandon Dewar made an outstanding run from the tap to cross the try line. He used his speed once again to add another try later in the match. Cody Phillips also scored two tries, one of them coming from an impressive offload. Summer Mason showed developing confidence making some convincing tackles. Ty Hanrahan is improving his skills in keeping the opposition at bay. Bryce Carter weaved his way down the field to score another two tries for Fierce. Three tries were successfully converted by Jimmy Stewart, Jai McMillan and Bryce Carter.

A very close game between Wang Brave and Lightning, with some great football played by the youngters. Attack was hard with Ned Alexander, Andrew Brasher, Jai McMillan and Bryce Carter leading the way. Defence was just as challenging with Ronald Younger, Jarah Cafe and Gabby Dray having to put in that bit extra to stop a hard running lightning attack.

Special thanks goes to Lachlan Nunan for volunteering to play for storm to assist with numbers, and he had a great game. Tries went to Andrew and Ned with goal kicks by Bryce and Jarah.

This week Wang Junior league is proud to have donated the proceeds of their raffle to young Ben Seymour from Wallerawang Public School who has been raising money for the Breast Cancer Network.
