Thursday 28 May was an exciting day for staff and students from Cullen Bullen, Capertee and Hampton Public Schools. Science Lecturers and Teachers from Charles Sturt University Bathurst conducted a series of workshops and experiments with the students. It was a great day of interaction and scientific exploration as the students learnt about water rockets, cyclones, bridges, planes, liquids and solids, looked at creepy crawlies through a digital microscope and even got to look at the sun through a telescope.
Science Day was a great learning experience for students who were very excited to share their favourite activities with friends. Students even got to take home a “lava lamp” and “slime” which they made on the day.
Students in years K-6 are now looking forward to their next unit of study on Dinosaurs in conjunction with the latest delivery from “Museum in a Box” – an initiative of the Australian Museum.
