A showcase of Lithgow talent

Mitchell Conservatorium, Lithgow Division will be presenting a student concert on Sunday 14th June  at 2pm in which some of the best musical talent Lithgow has to offer will be showcased.

The concert will take place in the Conservatorium building in Wyld St, just near the swimming pool. The building offers wonderful acoustics which have been commented upon by many visiting artists.

During the concert, audience members will be entertained by a number of very talented Lithgow students presenting items on a variety of musical instruments including piano, violin, and orchestral xylophone. 2015 scholarship winners who will be performing include Veronica Wessell & Joshua Mason (violin), Patrick Woodrow & Adrian Ma (piano), Lisa Allan(vocals), Silas Burbank (guitar), and Callum Woodrow (orchestral percussion). In a first for Lithgow, young Wei Qi Yin will be performing on cello. Wei Qi is 2015 winner of “Maureen Newell Memorial” Scholarship awarded in memory of long term Mitchell Conservatorium teacher Mrs Maureen Newell.

Following the concert the 2015 scholarship recipients will be presented with their certificates and light refreshments will be served. This promises to be a wonderful afternoon of musical entertainment. Entry is by dollar note donation.

Mitchell Conservatorium, Lithgow acknowledges and thanks Lithgow City Council for their continued support of the scholarship programme.
