The Lithgow CBD has been inundated with flowers as part of Council’s very successful Mother’s Day Street of Flowers promotion.
With the majority of Main Street retailers, as well as stores in the Valley Plaza, coming to the party and decorating in the most motherly of themes, it has given the town a reason to come out on a cold Autumn night and support local businesses.
The main driving force between, not only the decorations and displays, but also the promotional activity has been Council Economic Development Manager, Matthew Brewster. “It is very rewarding to see all the businesses get involved in the promotion and put on such a great display, and also so many great offers to keep the town’s economy going,” said Mr Brewster.
With our retailers under unprecedented pressure from both online spending and people shopping out of town, incentives and programs such as these are great intiatives to see from the Council.
