The Portland District Motor Sports Club proudly celebrates thirty years of community service by hosting another great action packed speedway meeting at the Kings Auto Parts Cullen Bullen Raceway this Sunday (19th April ) and it’s going to be a ripper!

Way back in April 1985 the club was born from the foresight of former Portland resident Chris Brown and Ray Blackley of Cullen Bullen who was voted in as President and still remains in that position today – an amazing and unheard of feat.

Ray, backed totally by his late wife Daphne, children Kevin, Jenny and Beryl along with their children, has been the mainstay of the still very popular club and the captivating Cullen Bullen Raceway which was born in June 1991 – another true success story.

Featured racing categories at this meeting are four fabulous classes of open wheelers including the Vintage Modified Speedcars, Quarter Midgets, Go Karts and the Microsprints.

The “little things with the big wings” the magic little quarter midgets will flock to the speedway for their NSW title clash while the magnificent microsprints will contest the penultimate round of their club championship and stepback in time with the booming V8 Vintage Modified Speedcars to complete a sensational feast of wheel to wheel open wheeler racing.

And don’t forget the stock cars contesting the 7th round of their Portland club championship over four heats – the RSA Street Stockers, Series Production, Fast Fours and the Juniors all racing for their yearly pointscore.

Get set for almost six hours of non stop speedway excitement at “the Action Attraction of the Central West” with over fifty events for the tin top stock cars and the very fast open wheelers.

Driving stars from Sydney, the Blue Mountains, Mudgee, Bathurst, Orange, Canberra, Blayney, Oberon and Nowra will battle it out wheel to wheel on the oval track and you won’t miss one second of the action – come out and cheer your favourite driver to the chequered flag.

Sponsors proudly supporting the Cullen Bullen Raceway include Kings Auto Parts, Sita Environmental Solutions, McFadden Ice Supplies of Bathurst, Brackenrig Haulage of Lidsdale, Phil & Marg Downey’s Portland Newsagency, the Royal Hotel Cullen Bullen, Stone’s Pest & Weed Control, Coates Hire Wallerawang, Portland Automotive Services, Centennial Coal, Lithgow City Council and Atlantic Lubricants.

Full canteen facilities are always available and at very pleasing prices so be ready for a full evening of inexpensive family entertainment this Sunday (April 19th) commencing at 10am at the Cullen Bullen Raceway situated just off the Mudgee Road.

Spectators are also reminded, as a condition of entry, that children must be supervised at all times.
