Last Saturday, over 200 people gathered at Meadow Flat Recreation Ground to enjoy a night filled with good company and great country music.
The night included great music by Cliff Berry & Three 4 Country, Peter Horan and Nancy Dennis. It also featured performances by the Lithgow Line Dancers, and the Bashira Belly Dancers from Bathurst.
“It was really great,” said Margaret Wilson, a Line Dancing performer. “An absolutely brilliant night. Both Maureen and Bruce did a really great job pulling it together.”
Maureen and Bruce both said they have heard nothing but good comments about the night. “Everyone loved it,” they said. “It went down really well. People were staying at the camping ground and some of them made a real night of it.”
“I was sad I had to leave,” said Margaret. “I left around ten and the party was still going.”
The night was held to raise money for a toilet block to go on the recreation ground.
“We’ve been given a grant to help build the block,” said Maureen, “but it only gets us part of the way. We’re trying to raise the last of the funds with events like the music night.”
The night was a great success with over 200 people coming through the gate. Maureen and Bruce both said that the success of the music night has them already wanting to plan the next one. “There will probably be another music night next year,” said Bruce.
