The Living Dead come to Eskbank House

Dead Living: Modern Life for the Living Dead, an exhibition of images from the recent Zombie Make Up Workshops held at Eskbank House and Museum, will be officially opened with a Dead Living Fashion Show on Friday 24 October at 6.00pm as a lead up event to the Halloween14 Block Party.

“I am very excited to be a joint compare, along with Mercury Salvatori from La Belle La Bette, at the Dead Living Fashion Show,” said Lithgow City Council Mayor Maree Statham. “The zombie workshops, exhibition, fashion show and short film are wonderful examples of what can be accomplished with creative partnerships across Lithgow. Lithgow High School and local businesses have worked with Council’s Eskbank House and Halloween14 teams to produce this series of events which add a whole new dimension to Eskbank House and Halloween.”

The Dead Living: Modern Life for the Living Dead photographic exhibition is based on the idea of a life style magazine for Zombies. The exhibition photos were taken during two Zombie Make Up workshops with local high school students, at Eskbank House and at shops in Main Street. The Lithgow High School film unit also produced a short zombie film with students in full make up.

The Dead Living Fashion Parade will be the official opening of the exhibition. Models in full zombie make up will present fashions and accessories from La Belle La Bette in a living gallery in the front rooms of Eskbank House followed by a fashion compared by the Mayor and Mercury Salvatori in the Courtyard Gallery. Halloween cuisine by Onelias Place Cafe will be served at the event.

Dead Living: Modern Life for the Living Dead  will run in the Courtyard Gallery of Eskbank House and Museum from 22 October to 2 November 2014. Eskbank House and Museum is open 10.00am- 4.00pm Wednesday to Sunday. Limited access to the Eskbank House building from the carpark has been restored following tree damage that occurred during the recent snow storm however no access will be available to the grounds until further notice.
