Having recently returned from a hectic week on Norfolk Island, the Lithgow Line Dancers are looking forward to another eventful year.
While at Norfolk Island the group of fifteen, coming from Lithgow and Portland, enjoyed a busy week at the Annual Line-Dance Festival with other keen dancers traveling from Sydney, Queensland, Wester Australia and New Zealand. This year over 70 line dancers attended the festival, doubling the number that attended last year. Over their five days, they enjoyed line dancing workshops in the morning, and attended socials in the evening, where they relished the chance to dress up for a theme night or two.
Accompanying non-dancers also had a busy week, touring the island, and enjoying the histories and mysteries of Norfolk.
The Line Dancers can be found throughout the year, bringing smiles to those in all the nursing homes of Lithgow and Portland, or giving demonstrations at local events. Look out for them at the annual Lithgow Show, the Spring Fair in Portland, and Celebrate Lithgow.
This weekend the Lithgow Line Dancers will be at Ironfest, so look out for them while you’re there.
Line dancing is filled with fun, wonderful friendships and is a great way of keeping fit and healthy. Classes are held at Lithgow, Portland and Blackheath. If you would like more information about Line dancing please contact Hope on 6351 3778
